On one hand, I have sinful values such as valuing sexual fantasies as a man of single status. I also want to value humanism and do what I want. Whether humanism is a sin is up for debate, but I know that my conscience tells me that sexual soloing is a sin even as I don’t see how it is a sin logically speaking. I also feel ashamed of God. But on the other hand, I’ve been fasting these past few days and I’m realising that I need to repent of my sins. With that said, how should and can I live as a Christian? I feel like serving two masters (God and the flesh) is too much for me. If I serve God only, I end up locking myself into fundamentalist close-minded Christianity. If I serve the flesh, I’m going against what the Bible says about God.

For godly sorrow worketh repenatance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. (2Corinthians 7 : 10)

All Christians live burdened by worldly concerns, aligning with the biblical teaching that worldly worries lead to death. In other words, they are consumed by concerns about health, family, business, work, relationships, children, and loved ones, spending their entire lives caught up in these worries.

Amid this, they develop bad habits driven by self-interest, which only grow stronger. This is the reality of many Christians today.

They sin, repent, then turn back and commit the same sins again, trapped in a habitual cycle of wrongdoing that ultimately swallows their conscience. Many no longer even feel guilt or conviction.

The life of a Christian begins with self-sacrifice. Without following Christ’s love, even to the point of sacrificing one’s own life, and instead chasing only a worldly life dictated by self-interest, many so-called Christians remain stuck in an endless cycle of sin. Such people will never be truly reborn, transformed, or changed into true followers of Christ.

If you desire to become a true Christian, you must abandon everything—deny even your own life—and live solely for God’s will, making Christ’s love your goal and hope.

You must completely deny yourself, discard all that belongs to you, and relinquish your life and personal values. It is in that surrender that the hope of Christ begins. The hope of Christ leads to eternal life, and that path does not result in sin driven by greed.

Thus, the Bible says that those who belong to God do not continue in sin.

If I find myself repeatedly sinning, it means I do not truly belong to God but remain trapped in the flesh, continuously repeating sin out of self-interest.

Furthermore, teachings or inspirations that cause people to remain trapped in sin are neither God’s Word nor His true instruction.

Many Christians today are simply deceived by the words of pastors, caught in a cycle of sin without true transformation.

Become a true Christian.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.(James 1 : 15)

For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.(Romans 7 : 14)

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.(Romans 8 : 13)

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (Romans 8 : 5-7)

Those who call themselves Christian pastors often fail to escape from lust and greed, and many of them commit even more sins than non-believers. This is why the Bible instructs us to discern whether they are false shepherds.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.(1 John 4 : 1)

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.(Matthew 24 : 24)

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.(Matthew 7 : 15)

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.(2 Corinthians 11 : 13-15)
